Across the arts, culture, and live events sector, we’ve heard the same story - Teams are stretched, workers are burned out, and some of the most committed people are leaving for better pay and conditions elsewhere.
But does that narrative stand up to scrutiny?
In late 2025, we surveyed 268 people in ticketing, marketing, and fundraising roles - people using Spektrix and people using other systems, across the globe. Thanks to everyone who took part!
Your answers described exhaustion and frustration, but also pride, purpose, and a deep belief in the impact of your work. We've collected your voices to create Powered by Purpose: a detailed report helping everyone in the sector to understand how these experiences sit together, the factors that might ultimately push a dedicated worker out of the sector, and what they tell us about the reality of working in arts and live events today.
