Makes: Enable eligible customers to book access seats online
All customers should be able to enjoy the same seamless online booking experience. One way to support that goal is by making access seats visible and bookable online.
By combining lock types, seating plan overlays, and custom messaging, you can reduce barriers for customers with access needs and ensure your venue feels inclusive at every stage of the customer journey.

Custom Website Messages: On-page guidance to help customers log in or verify access eligibility
Bulk Instance Update Tool: Updates multiple events with new overlays
Create or update an Info Overlay that explains which seats are accessible and why. Examples: “Step-free access,” “Best view of captions,” or “Close to exit.”
Set up your Lock Types and mark them as active, available for web users, and assign clear icons.
Tag customers using the approach in the “Capture Access Needs” recipe.
Create or edit a Lock Overlay and assign it to your seating plan.
Use the Bulk Instance Update Tool (or manual edits) to apply your Info and Lock Overlays to upcoming events.
Add a Custom Website Message to the chooseseats.aspx iframe, prompting customers to log in or create an account. You may also link to their Nimbus Access Card if you are UK-based.
For future events, ensure new instances use the correct overlays from the start.
Pair this recipe with “Capture Access Needs” to build customer trust and confidence in your access offer. Consider adding filters for access performances and clear signposting throughout the purchase journey.
