Makes: Enable eligible customers to book access seats online
All customers should be able to enjoy the same seamless online booking experience. One way to support that goal is by making access seats visible and bookable online.
By combining lock types, seating plan overlays, and custom messaging, you can reduce barriers for customers with access needs and ensure your venue feels inclusive at every stage of the customer journey.

Concepts weâll be using
 Lock Types : Seat holds that control access for specific groups of customers
 Lock Overlays : Tools that apply locks to seating plans
 Info Overlays : Pop-up descriptions that explain features of specific seats
 Tags : Used to identify customers eligible for access seating
 Custom Website Messages : On-page guidance to help customers log in or verify access eligibility
Create or update an Info Overlay that explains which seats are accessible and why. Examples: âStep-free access,â âBest view of captions,â or âClose to exit.â
Tag customers using the approach in the âCapture Access Needsâ recipe.
Set up your Lock Types and mark them as active, available for web users, and assign clear icons.
Set customer eligibility by using the relevant customer access tags to each Lock Type.
Create or edit a Lock Overlay and assign it to your seating plan.

Activate
Use the Bulk Instance Update Tool (or manual edits) to apply your Info and Lock Overlays to upcoming events.
Add a Custom Website Message to the chooseseats.aspx iframe, prompting customers to log in or create an account. You may also link to their Nimbus Access Card if you are UK-based.
For future events, ensure new instances use the correct overlays from the start.
